Position: Computed Tomography- X Ray Tech - $5000 Sign on bonus

Position Overview:

Full Time - scheduled to work nights - 7 x 11 hour shifts per pay period. 

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced CT - X Ray Tech to join our growing team. This is a full-time position, working nights, 77 hours per pay period.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CT and possess excellent technical skills. In addition, the candidate must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

1. Assisting the licensed practitioner or radiologist assistant with interventional computed
tomography, fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures. Performing diagnostic
computed tomography, radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as
prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
2. Identifying, calculating, compounding, preparing and/or administering medications
enterally, parenterally, through new or existing vascular or through other routes as needed,
as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
3. Applying principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to minimize exposure
to patient, self and others. Selecting the appropriate protocol and optimizing technical
factors while maximizing principles of patient and radiation safety during all aspects of
patient care.
4. Assisting in maintaining medical records while respecting confidentiality and established
policy. Corroborating a patients clinical history with the procedure and ensuring
information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner in a timely
manner. Verifying informed consent for applicable procedures.
5. Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
6. Evaluating images for proper positioning and technical quality, and determining if additional
images will improve the procedure or treatment outcome.
7. Identifying and responding to emergency situations.
8. Performing ongoing quality assurance activities.
9. Performing venipuncture, point of care testing, starting, maintaining and/or removing
intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
10. Postprocessing data. Verifying archival storage of data.
11. Reviews the patients medical record and the licensed practitioners request to determine
optimal CT scanning protocol for clinical indication. Adheres to protocol scan length to
optimize patient dose.
12. Coordinates and manages the collection and labeling of tissue and fluid specimens.
13. Optimizes CT technical factors and utilizes isocentering of the anatomy of interest to
minimize radiation exposure to the patient while maintaining diagnostic image quality to
optimize dose.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have graduated from an approved ARRT program; and one year related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current Registration by the ARRT (R)(CT).Current CPR certification.
