HRRMC has an opening for a Full-Time (40 hrs./wk.) Registered Nurse position working at the Salida Health Center Walk In Clinic. Scheduled hours for this role will be Monday - Friday.
The clinic RN works within scope of RN practice. Clinic RN provides patient care in the clinic setting working closely with doctors, specialists, and other care providers to deliver short- and long-term care to patients. The clinic nurse aids patients from the moment they enter the clinic by collecting patient information, supporting patient evaluation, administering treatments and medications as needed, and educating patients. This role plans, directs, and performs quality nursing care for all clinic patients as well as provides high quality customer service and patient care while facilitating real-time resolution to any customer concerns with support of the department manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
a. Models positivity with all interactions, internally and externally, presenting the organization in a positive manner.
b. Communicates patient concerns or issues directly with their provider whenever possible and consults immediately with their immediate supervisor if there is not a satisfactory resolution as well as non-patient related issues/challenges. Does not wait to be rounded on to share concerns with their immediate supervisor.
c. As assigned by their immediate supervisor, may develop clinical guidelines in collaboration medical staff, clinic leadership, pharmacy, and other ancillary services as appropriate.
d. Maintains knowledge and skill sets required to conduct patient education sessions related to their specific specialty/clinic area.
e. Quickly masters and then maintains mastery level skill set with regards to the clinic/organization’s electronic medical records systems; is proficient at utilizing the computer and internet; manages telephone calls, performs patient assessments, documents in the electronic health record, and assists patients and providers as needed in the practice setting.
f. Participates in daily practice huddles reviewing staffing, tracking reports (orders sent and results received), patient phone calls, as well as reviewing the provider/patient schedule for the day, identifying any challenges (patient or scheduling) and collaborating with the clinic team on developing and implementing strategies to manage these challenges; seeks supervision as needed.
g. Ensures that patient phone calls are returned daily and consistent with HRRMC Communication Standards Policy.
