HRRMC South Park Health Center is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant. This position is scheduled for 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Clinic CMAs are proficient in a multitude of administrative and clinical tasks, and are widely viewed by physicians as vital partners in increasing medical office productivity. Clinic CMAs provide patient care in the clinic setting working closely with doctors, specialists, and other care providers to deliver short- and long-term care to patients. The CMAs aid patients from the moment they enter the clinic by collecting patient information, documenting in the electronic health record answering telephones, updating and filing patient medical records, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admissions and auxiliary services. CMAs handle correspondence. CMAs prepare patients for examination, assist providers during the exam, and other tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse and the physician
ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
a. Models positivity with all interactions, internally and externally, presenting the organization in a positive manner.
b. Communicates any patient concerns or issues directly with their provider
whenever possible and consults immediately with their immediate supervisor if there is not a satisfactory resolution, and if there are any non-patient concerns or issues. Does not wait to be rounded on to share concerns.
c. The Clinic CMA demonstrates positive teamwork, utilizes problem-solving
techniques to prevent conflict and maintains a calm and safe environment for customers and staff. The CMA is responsible for assisting in the provision of clinic patient services and actively participating in the strategic planning process and the performance improvement process.
d. Acts as a liaison between the hospital and local/consulting physician offices to foster cooperative relationships and problem solves issues regarding the clinic.
e. Performs administrative work, such as coordinating appointments, scheduling lab tests, answering phones, performing follow up.
f. Performs clinical tasks, including collecting specimens, changing dressings
g. Possesses personal care skills and recognition of mental health and social service needs
h. Possesses basic restorative services
i. Prepares exam rooms, instruments, assisting with procedures, removing
contaminated waste
j. Administers medications as directed, recording test results, vital signs, patient data
k. Interviews patients, explaining treatment plans, preparing patients for tests and procedures
l. Participates in daily huddles
m. Reviews the patient schedule and services ordered report daily.
n. Assists with closing the loop on results and reminds the provider to check and follow up on results.
o. Monitors/reminds their provider to utilize save and validate code (check medical necessity).
p. Participates in time out before procedures
q. Assists with ensuring quality payment metrics are met.
r. Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or provider.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Current and active Certified Medical Assistant.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain current, active certification as Certified Medical Assistant.
Must maintain current BLS certification
