Role Overview
As a Mobile Engineer at Kinsa, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, with a focus on our care-oriented features. This key position will contribute directly to our mission by enhancing our app experience, integrating new devices, and implementing robust care guidance features, including telehealth capabilities.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain Kinsa's mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms using Swift and Kotlin respectively
Implement new care-focused features and improve existing functionality of the Kinsa app
Integrate new connected health devices with our mobile applications to expand our care capabilities
Enhance the app's care guidance system, including the implementation of telehealth features
Optimize app performance to ensure a seamless user experience for families managing their health
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and backend engineers to create innovative health management solutions
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions on improving our care offerings
Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
5+ years of experience in mobile app development
Proficiency in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android development
Strong understanding of mobile app architecture and design patterns
Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Knowledge of mobile app performance optimization techniques
Experience with integrating third-party libraries and APIs
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare or health tech industry
Preference for Advanced degree, graduate coursework, or certifications in Computer Science or a complementary field relevant to work at Kinsa.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and data security best practices
Knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for device connectivity
Experience with implementing telehealth or video calling features in mobile apps
Passion for creating technology that directly impacts people's health and well-being
Fullstack experience, Python and/or JS knowledge is a plus.
A Day in the Life Might Include
Coding new care guidance features for the Kinsa app in Swift and Kotlin
Collaborating with the design team to implement user-friendly interfaces for health tracking
Debugging and resolving issues reported by users or the QA team to ensure reliable health monitoring
Participating in sprint planning and daily stand-up meetings to align on care feature priorities
Researching and proposing solutions for integrating new health devices to expand our care ecosystem
Optimizing app performance to ensure smooth user experience across various devices, crucial for reliable health monitoring
Helping implement features on the backend or frontend web.
