ICU Nurses
Locations: Truro Nova Scotia
Start Dates:
- Truro : February 13, 2025
End Dates:
- Truro : March 13 , 2025;
Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts (variable day and night schedules, including weekends and holidays).
- Patient-nurse ratio depends on patient acuity.
- ICU RNs respond to hospital codes (blue and pink) and monitor telemetry for acute care patients.
Accommodations:

Requirements:
- Minimum 4-5 years of recent ICU experience.
- ACLS certification required.
- Completion of a Critical Care Nursing Program preferred.
Position Overview:
HealthOPM is currently seeking highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team in a hospital ICU (Intensive Care Unit) in Nova Scotia. This 1-month contract offers a rewarding opportunity to provide critical care to patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. As an ICU nurse, you will be part of a dedicated healthcare team focused on delivering exceptional care. Accommodation and travel expenses are provided as part of the contract, allowing you to focus on providing the best possible care to your patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including monitoring critically ill patients, administering treatments, and ensuring patient safety.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop care plans for ICU patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other specialists, to provide holistic care.
- Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and critical situations, ensuring immediate and appropriate intervention.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and documentation, adhering to hospital policies and nursing standards.
- Provide compassionate, empathetic care to patients and families, helping them navigate critical health conditions.
- Support the emotional and psychological well-being of patients and their families in a high-pressure environment.
Requirements:
- Licensing: Active and current registration with the College of Nursing of Nova Scotia (CNSNS) is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience working in an ICU or critical care environment is required.
- Skills: Strong ability to manage critical situations, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstrate excellent clinical judgment in high-stress scenarios.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification are required. Additional certifications are a plus.
- Availability: Must be available for the specified contract dates
