Summary:

Are you passionate about providing high quality pediatrics care? As an integral member of this facility, you will be responsible for providing high-quality pediatric care to patients under the age of 22 years.

Status: 1099

Schedule:

  • Primary care Clinic hours are 7:30am - 10:00pm Monday-Friday
  • No weekends or federal holidays
  • Typical duty hours are from 7:00am - 7:00pm, 6:00pm - 7:00am or 7:00am - 7:00am on the Mother Baby Unit which is open 24/7/365 days a year.

About the opportunity:

  • Perform a full range of Pediatric Physician services for pediatric patients (under 22 years old) on-site in a General Pediatrics Clinic
  • 21 scheduled outpatient visits per day
  • Provide a full range of pediatric medicine services (e.g., clinically oversee and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of adolescents for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel, developmental and learning disabilities (cerebral palsy, birth defects, ADHD, emotional problems and adjustments, and child abuse and neglect; etc.)).
  • Clinically oversee, perform, or assist in the instruction of, other health care professionals seeing children (e.g., Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); diagnostic procedures; and minor surgical procedures such as incisions and drainage of abscesses, suture simple lacerations; etc.).
  • Clinically oversee and teach other medical staff. Provide educational lectures and participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocol.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat infectious disease, allergies, and metabolic, neurological, endocrine, cardiac, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, hematological, renal and musculoskeletal and emotional disorders.
  • Provide age appropriate patient/parent education on diseases, conditions, procedures, medications, prevention, and wellness.
  • In the out-patient setting, perform well-child examinations, sports physicals, and general pediatrics acute visits.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory and radiological examinations.
  • Provide clinical advice and consultation to colleagues, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and medical support staff.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from an accredited college approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the AMA or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.0.) degree from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association.
  • Any active state license
  • Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program
  • Board certified in Pediatrics or eligible for certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Active DEA registration
  • At least 1 year of recent clinical experience working as a pediatrician
