About the opportunity:

  • Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.

  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.

  • Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health psychology.

  • Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and psychological testing/psychodiagnostics testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.

  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.

  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals, families and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.

  • Treat individuals in times of personal crisis such as a divorce or death of a loved one.

  • Interview patients and study medical and social case histories.

  • Diagnose and evaluate mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administer programs of treatment.

  • Provide couples therapy and alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.

  • Assist in rehabilitation of patients.

  • Consults with command teams.

  • Maintains accurate and current notes in electronic health record of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.

  • Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress.)

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About the facility:

  • Number of scheduled patients per day 5

  • Typical diagnosis the HCP can expect Post traumatic Stress Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, ADHD, Adjustment Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder

  • Number and type of other personnel in the department - 22 personnel, mixture of active duty and civilian. They are licensed clinical social workers, psychologists, family advocacy assistant, front desk staff, and family advocacy nurse.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree.

  • Graduated from a college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology

  • Successfully completed an internship in psychology.

  • Must maintain current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.

  • BLS certification
