About the opportunity:
Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.
Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health psychology.
Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and psychological testing/psychodiagnostics testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
Provide psychological treatment for individuals, families and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
Treat individuals in times of personal crisis such as a divorce or death of a loved one.
Interview patients and study medical and social case histories.
Diagnose and evaluate mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administer programs of treatment.
Provide couples therapy and alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
Consults with command teams.
Maintains accurate and current notes in electronic health record of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress.)
Performs other duties as assigned.
About the facility:
Number of scheduled patients per day 5
Typical diagnosis the HCP can expect Post traumatic Stress Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, ADHD, Adjustment Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Number and type of other personnel in the department - 22 personnel, mixture of active duty and civilian. They are licensed clinical social workers, psychologists, family advocacy assistant, front desk staff, and family advocacy nurse.
Requirements:
Hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree.
Graduated from a college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology
Successfully completed an internship in psychology.
Must maintain current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.
