Overview:
The Senior Quality Engineer role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence through consistent application of quality methodologies and adherence to regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS), resolving quality issues, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D:2016 QMS standards.
2. Identify and resolve product quality issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
3. Communicate and reinforce the company's commitment to quality improvement initiatives.
4. Collaborate with customers' quality and engineering teams to address root causes and develop action plans.
5. Review customers' quality requirements and alert relevant departments of any exceptional notes.
6. Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning activities for new tool or process design.
7. Facilitate effective problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and corrective action.
8. Generate AS9102 reports for complex assemblies and coordinate resolution of customer complaints.
9. Lead PPM improvement initiatives for strategic customers.
10. Apply statistical techniques to identify product and process issues and trends.
11. Participate in quality reporting and management review processes.
12. Interact with customers, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to address issues and implement corrective actions.
13. Participate in supplier qualifications and audits.
14. Calculate and estimate MTBF, MTTR, MTTM.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or Quality Systems Management.
- 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in AS9100 QMS.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering processes and experience in the electronics/electro-mechanical industry.
- Familiarity with FAA Conformity is advantageous.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Quality Engineer, Certified AS9100 Auditor.
- Experience with internal and supplier audit processes, CA/PA process, FAI, and AS9102 reporting.
- Working knowledge of Reliability Analysis software and current MIL-STD requirements.
