Our client, a global freight forwarder, is seeking a QHSE Manager to oversee all Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality functions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager and other team members to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, achievement of KPIs, and adherence to organizational standards and policies.
The Challenges
- Manage the QHSE team to achieve control, monitoring and implementation of QHSE and contract governance align with company policies and procedures.
- Develop, maintain and improve the business Integrated Management System to underpin QHSE and operating standards.
- Support the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of QHSE Standards and the relevance to business objectives.
- Implement the Crisis Management Plan and Business Continuity Plans across Singapore and Malaysia; and provide accident and incident reporting and assist with subsequent investigation process when required.
- Responsible for Companys QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations etc.
Responsible for management of and liaison with QHSE auditors to acquire/maintain Company's accreditations. - Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvements.
What It Takes
- Bachelor or Master degree of Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related safety certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience (with Sustainability knowledge and experience).
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Knowledge of current developments and trends in QHSE best practices, project management, and related technology.
- Ability to effectively manage a large, diverse team of technical managerial/supervisory, professional, and support staff.
- Knowledgeable in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHA 18001, ISM, ISPS standards and HSE management systems is highly preferred.
- Good MS Office skills particularly in Excel, Words and Power point.
- Able to work independently and meticulous.
- Ability in document writing and process designs.
- A hands-on implementer of processes and change.
- Able to support and mentor team members and to coach/advise as required.
- A knowledge of warehouse working practices and principles.
