This newly created position is responsible for developing and managing business operations that support and increase sales growth, market share, customer satisfaction, profitability, and employee satisfaction by directing, coordinating, and monitoring sales and operational activities of the branch.
The Challenges
- Develop business objectives, strategies and plans for the Branch to grow profitability and meet the overall expectations of management as well as develop the department in alignment with the companys global short-term and long-term business visions and goals respectively.
- Grow volume and revenue to meet or exceed the targets.
Uplift corporate culture and values through development of internal communications to drive organizational excellence. - Act as a partnership to all internal and external, regional, and global business and support units.
- Provide training, coaching, guidance, motivation and leadership to staff members to achieve the best results for the company.
- Complete profit & loss responsibility in terms of operations, finance, and administration.
- Structure, build and enhance relationships with customers to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Drive productivity to maximize resource utilization.
- Plan, lead, manage and monitor resources on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and guidelines.
- Conduct market analysis and identify new business opportunities based on information available in the market.
- Handle cases of customer complaints that have been escalated from the supervisors.
What It Takes
- Bachelors degree in business administration or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics industry, with at least 5 years in strategic position with profit & loss responsibility.
- Results-oriented with strong bias for action and department development.
- Able to manage cross-functional interfaces between sales and operations and multi-task various functions simultaneously.
- Strong functional knowledge in air, ocean, logistics or supply chain management.
- Understand market trends and have a general knowledge of marketing and/or product management.
- Fluent in English and local dialects.
- Customer focused with strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrate initiative, creative thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Able to work in a diverse environment and culture.
- Strong in networking and relationship building skills.
- Effective interpersonal, communication and people management skills
- Cargowise knowledge is an advantage.
- Mature, independent, pro-active, and able to work under pressure.
