The organization is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Manager, Implementation & Process Excellence to lead the successful onboarding of new customers while advancing operational excellence across logistics functions. This dual-focused role blends hands-on project implementation with structured process optimization, supporting the companys broader ambition to build a consistently data-led, insight-driven operating culture.
The role plays a pivotal part in strengthening the organizations service performance, implementing new technologies, and ensuring seamless operational readiness for new and existing customers.
The Challenges
Customer Onboarding & Project Implementation
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of new customer projects, from initial requirements gathering to go-live and stabilization.
- Facilitate onboarding workshops to understand customer workflows, service expectations, operational constraints, and success criteria.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and risk logs to ensure disciplined execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional readiness (Operations, Warehouse, Transport, IT, Finance, Customer Service, and others) to align resources for flawless deployment.
- Provide regular updates to internal leadership and customers, ensuring transparency and timely issue resolution.
Operations Excellence & Process Improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse, transport, and logistics operations by analysing workflows, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements.
- Conduct root-cause reviews of process inefficiencies; evaluate cost-benefit impacts of proposed solutions.
- Assist in developing and enhancing SOPs, operating standards, governance structures, and process documentation.
- Contribute to automation and digital adoption effortsleveraging tools such as Power BI, process mapping software, and system modulesto reduce manual activity and improve accuracy.
- Ensure operational quality and compliance metrics are embedded, measured, and adhered to across functions
Resource & Capacity Planning
- Support manpower and equipment planning for new and existing accounts, ensuring operational capacity matches customer requirements and growth forecasts.
- Assist in evaluating scenarios, constraints, and operational models to guide decision-making related to future resource planning.
Technology & Digital Transformation Support
- Track progress of technology-enabled projects and support system implementation activities across logistics functions.
- Coordinate with IT and business teams to test, validate, and operationalize new digital tools.
- Stay current with logistics technology trendsautomation, visibility tools, data analyticsand assess applicability to the organizations operating model.
- Help reinforce a culture where insights, dashboards, and data-driven KPIs inform operating decisions rather than relying on manual or anecdotal inputs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, HR, IT, Finance and Facility Management to support bid responses, solutioning work, process design, and operational readiness.
- Contribute to transformation projects and innovative logistics initiatives aimed at elevating service quality and operational agility.
Compliance & Business Support
- Assist with the renewal of operational licenses, certificates, and compliance documents to ensure business continuity.
- Support ISO audits, including preparation, coordination, documentation, and corrective action follow-up.
- Provide implementation support to the Malaysia office when required, including travel to Johor Bahru for project assignments.
What It Takes
- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in supply chain or logistics operations, with demonstrated capability in project implementation and process optimization.
- Proven experience managing new customer onboarding projects, operational rollouts, or solution implementations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (VBA), PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of logistics operations across warehouse, transport, and supply chain processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments, manage timelines, and engage confidently with customers.
- Willingness to travel to Johor Bahru, Malaysia as required for project deployments.
