Location: HANNON Steel - Templepatrick

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am -5pm

The Steel Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, loading, unloading, and storage of steel products and materials within the Hannon Steel warehouse environment. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure the smooth operation of steel processing and distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Load, unload, and move steel products using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment.
• Inventory Management: Assist in tracking inventory levels, ensuring accurate counts of steel products, and reporting discrepancies.
• Storage Organisation: Maintain an organized storage area by properly stacking and storing steel materials to maximize space and ensure safety.
• Quality Control: Inspect steel products for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling practices.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine checks on handling equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork related to inventory movements, including shipping and receiving documents.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure efficient operations and timely order fulfilment.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required

• Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably in steel handling or related fields.
• Familiarity with steel products and handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, overhead cranes) is preferred.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. 

Working Conditions
The Steel Handler will work primarily in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions if working outdoors. The role requires standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
