Job purpose

A procurement specialist facilitates purchases from outside suppliers to keep a business running. Their primary responsibilities include researching key suppliers, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring all products and materials meet company standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities, pricing, and terms.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, service, and delivery terms.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals and maintain favorable relationships.
  • Review and manage procurement contracts to ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities are documented, and contract terms are adhered to.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance data.
  • Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and supply chain efficiency for management review.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Saudi nationality required.
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A masters degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)) is a plus.
  • Minimum of [5] years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the Middle East region.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier evaluation.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
