PENETRATION TESTER
Standard responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on internal and external systems, networks, and applications to identify security vulnerabilities.
- Utilize a variety of tools and techniques to simulate real-world cyber attacks, including but not limited to, network scanning, web application testing, and social engineering.
- Document and report findings, including detailed descriptions of vulnerabilities, their potential impact, and recommended remediation steps.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize and address identified vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest security trends, threats, and vulnerabilities, and actively participate in knowledge sharing and training activities.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in penetration testing or related cybersecurity roles.
- Proficient in at least one or more scripting languages (i.e., bash, python, PowerShell, ruby, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and attack vectors, as well as countermeasures and best practices for mitigation.
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark etc
- Experience employing advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, including dead system analysis and volatile data collection and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with best practices frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM, or PTES
- Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
