Able Seaman (AB)

Job Summary:
The Able Seaman (AB) is a skilled member of the deck crew responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and navigation support of the vessel. The AB assists with mooring, cargo handling, watchkeeping, and general upkeep of the ship, ensuring compliance with maritime safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform watchkeeping duties as assigned, including monitoring navigation, safety, and security systems.

Assist in mooring, anchoring, and unmooring operations.

Handle ropes, lines, and deck equipment safely and efficiently.

Participate in loading, unloading, and securing cargo.

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of deck machinery, lifeboats, safety equipment, and ship structures.

Perform routine cleaning, painting, and upkeep of the vessel.

Respond to emergencies, including fire, man overboard, or collision incidents, following safety protocols.

Assist officers and senior crew members with navigation, signaling, and communication tasks.

Maintain accurate logs and records as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:
