About the job Q201234: Estimator

The Estimator is responsible for developing and identifying the scope of the work to be priced from studying single line diagrams, capturing all relevant specifications, developing the design as required and accurately calculating the cost of the work.

The Salary Range: Php 35,000 to Php 45,000

The Work Set-Up:

  • Work onsite
  • 8 hour work shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Day shift (7am - 4pm)

The Responsibilities:

  • Identifying specific requirements of the Project through the Electrical Drawings and Specifications; current ratings, IP ratings, kA ratings, switchgear brands etc.
  • Reviewing program requirements and assessing their potential impact on the pricing and identifying potential cost savings if the program will allow for alternative equivalent components for example.
  • Acquiring pricing and quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; recording these for later reference by the Production team where possible.
  • Negotiating better pricing when conducting quotation reviews to achieve cost savings and increase margins.
  • Preparation of quotations in Microsoft Excel and issuing as PDFs.
  • Completing all project estimates, quotations, and follow-ups in a consistent and timely manner as per Sales and Estimator Manager expectations including all targets and directions.
  • Submission of tenders on time including coordination of Extension of Time (EOT) requests for compliant tender submissions.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

The Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in switchboard manufacturing is preferable.
  • Knowledge in Excel and/or other estimating software.
  • Knowledge in Project Cost Estimating or Project Management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough and reliable, possess a positive attitude, and capable of taking on challenges and achieving results.
  • Client-focused with strong attention to detail.
