Role

We're looking for a senior software engineer to build a new real-time event-driven platform for securities lending, repo and delta-1 trading. The platform has two core objectives:

• Workflow automation - Streamline reconciliation, risk management and reporting workflows.
• Front-to-back integration - Consolidate the full trading to settlement lifecycle into a unified platform.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop Java server-side/UI components and Python ETL pipelines.
• Build integrations with external vendors and market data providers.
• Work directly with traders and operations teams to deliver solutions.
• Own the design and delivery of technical and process workflows within the platform.

You'll share responsibility for:

• Driving technical direction and engineering standards across the team.
• Representing the platform to traders, operations and vendor counterparties.
• Supporting and developing the team through review and mentoring.

Technology stack: Java/Python, AWS, Linux, Postgres, Kafka.

Requirements

• Typically 7+ years of experience with Java and/or Python.
• Practical experience with relational databases and SQL (e.g. Postgres).
• Working command of Linux.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience with leading architecture discussions, driving the strategic vision and gaining stakeholder buy-in.
• Mentoring junior team members and establishing best practice within a team.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with developing, testing and deploying with cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with integrating with external/vendor APIs.
• Familiarity with Kafka messaging.
• Capital markets experience (securities lending, delta-1, repo, derivatives).
