About This Role


  • As Our Client expands to international markets including Japan, we are seeking a passionate, driven and results-oriented individual who can significantly contribute towards managing key relationships with our partner, from managing stakeholders, creating buy-in across the partner organization, and cultivating broader/ deeper relationships that in turn lead to additional opportunities.
  • This is a critical role reporting to the head of Market, and the successful candidate will be handling business development activities with (potential) Japanese partners, but more importantly work closely together with the Japan team as well as our our telco partner.
  • This is a country-level role which is based in Tokyo, Japan.


Desired Outcomes


  • Develop and create attractive partnerships propositions to bundle telco offerings with third party (digital and non-digital) partners to create a comprehensive non-telco e-commerce play
  • Set up scalable best practices and templates to drive go-to-market to partners and create joint value with our platform partners
  • Deliver new revenue streams through non-telco partnerships that will add revenues, churn reduction and higher engagement of the brands customer base
  • Build a high-performing, passionate and tight-knit team in conjunction with the operator; set challenging goals and actively coach/ provide regular feedback to help them reach their full potential


Ideal Experience


  • Well-versed in partnership building, sales and marketing, or business development. Ideally with experience of ensuring that the organisation meets service levels above and beyond the expectation of a key B2B relationship with a B2C product
  • Around 10 years of experience within the consumer brand industry (ideally SaaS/ Internet/ Technology/ Telecommunications (or-related) and familiar with the regulatory and competitive environment in the Japan market
  • Strong digital mindset and passionate about disrupting the future with an entrepreneurial spirit, and the grit, resilience and resourcefulness to overcome obstacles
  • Able to work and communicate effectively across Japanese and multinational companies. Ideally with experience of either working or studying abroad and/or experience reporting to Headquarters outside of Japan
  • Proven track record of building and scaling new business. Ideally within a B2C digital start-up or a high-growth type environment
