Role Overview
We are recruiting an Executive Business Partner on behalf of our client, a venture-backed deeptech startup and solar technology company. In this strategic and hands-on role, you will work closely with the CEO and Chief of Staff to drive key operational initiatives and significantly reduce the CEOs involvement in day-to-day tasks. This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple functions, gain exposure to high-level decision-making, and play a vital role in the companys growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Operational Execution:
- Collaborate with the CEO and Chief of Staff to implement a wide range of strategic and operational initiatives.
- Enhance internal communications and manage KPI reporting to maintain organizational alignment.
- Project Management & Analysis:
- Conduct techno-economic analyses and create data visualizations to support fundraising and strategic decisions.
- Draft quarterly reports for government grants and assist with grant-related documentation.
- Meeting & Relationship Management:
- Shadow the CEO during key meetings, participate in project discussions, and help resolve urgent operational challenges.
- Manage relationships with government agencies, consultants, and service providers.
- Dynamic Task Management:
- Embrace new responsibilities and challenges as they arise, contributing to multiple functions across the organization.
Required Skills
- Professional Attributes:
- Exceptional entrepreneurial drive, adaptability, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent writing, communication, and spreadsheet/analytical skills for tasks including project management, financial modeling, and technical data analysis.
- A strong commitment to integrity, a growth mindset, and high agency (ownership, urgency, creativity, and resourcefulness).
- Preferred Background:
- A technical background (e.g., BS or advanced degree in engineering) with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical topics.
- Experience in a deeptech startup or other fast-paced, R&D-intensive environment.
- Prior experience with government grants (e.g., DOE, DoD, NASA), managing NDAs, JDAs, and business contracts.
- Familiarity with finance and accounting practices, and ideally, experience in the solar PV industry and technology.
