Escrow Officer in Utah
Job Description:
The Escrow Officer is responsible for Coordinating real estate business, and supervising that all legal paperwork has
been completed. Which includes processing and ensuring the property titles are
clear, debts have been paid, and financial obligations have been met. You would
need to coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, and other parties to
ensure all requirements are met before closing. You would also be in charge of the safekeeping of the earnest money and transferring funds once the deal has been
closed.
Duties:
- Manage the escrow process from start to finish, ensuring all necessary
documentation is collected and reviewed.
- Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, and other parties involved in
the transaction to ensure a smooth closing process.
- Prepare and review closing documents, including settlement statements and
title insurance policies.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of property records to identify any
potential issues or discrepancies.
- Communicate with clients and provide timely updates on the progress of their
escrow transactions.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies throughout
the escrow process.
- Maintain accurate and organized files and records related to each escrow
transaction.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of escrow procedures, including experience with FNMA
guidelines, TILA regulations, and Fair Housing regulations.
- Familiarity with loan processing, loan origination, underwriting, and
mortgage servicing.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for reviewing
complex financial documents.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple escrow transactions
simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, lenders,
real estate agents, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in math to accurately calculate fees, interest rates, and
prorated amounts.
- High level of professionalism and integrity in handling confidential client
information.
Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Prior experience as an
Escrow Officer or a similar role in the financial services industry is
required.
