Senior Solution Architect - Big Data & Streaming (remote)

You will own the solution architecture of a bank's distributed data platform: enterprise data lake, operational datastore and Kafka-based streaming, built on Cloudera CDP on AWS. The role combines architecture leadership across delivery teams with hands-on technical credibility.

What you will be responsible for

• End-to-end solution architecture for large-scale data, streaming and integration solutions (ingestion, processing, storage, consumption)
• Architecture designs presented to and approved by architecture review boards
• Design reviews of engineering teams' work and alignment with the target architecture
• Technical risks, dependencies, non-functional requirements and design trade-offs made explicit
• Delivery plans broken into iterative increments together with engineering teams
• Architecture patterns, engineering standards and best practices for the data platform

What we expect from you

• 10+ years in IT, of which 5+ years in solution, technical or lead architecture roles
• Proven architecture of streaming or real-time applications on Kafka, including consumer design (consumer groups, offsets, retries, dead-letter handling, ordering, partitioning)
• Solutions designed on Cloudera CDH/CDP or an equivalent enterprise-scale distributed data platform
• Hands-on knowledge of Spark, Flink, Hive or Impala, and of HBase, Cassandra or similar
• API and service integration (Java, Spring Boot, REST); AWS is a strong plus
• Experience in banking or another regulated environment is an advantage
• English at C1 level (B2 minimum)
