OFFICER STRATA CONTROL

Our client in a leading Iron Ore Mine, 29 Kms from Kathu Northern cape invites highly skilled, motivated and dedicated individuals to apply for this opportunity

Experience: 3 years | Qualification: NQF 3 Strata Control Operations

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
To make observations and measurements and to collect data
about the rock conditions/rock mechanics of the workplace to
enable interpretation and recommendations to the mining
department, which includes but not limited to:
-Strata control inspection
-Incidents investigation
-Rock engineering input
-Geotechnical data
-Bench stability analysis
-Monitoring
-Limit blast quality assurance / quality control
-Mining control of special areas
-Risk assessments and compliance adherence
-Continuous improvement
-Internal and external stakeholder relationship
-SHERQ adherence and compliance
-Work ethics

QUALIFICATIONS
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
-Grade 12
National Certificate (NQF Level 3) - Strata Control Operations
(Accredited by Chamber of Mines)
-Blasting Certificate / Rock breaking MQA equivalent
qualification (Recommended)
-B.Degree / B Tech Degree (NQF Level 7) (Recommended)

EXPERIENCE
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
-Minimum of three (3) years Strata Control experience in a
mining environment

theoretical and practical application
Functional Knowledge and Skills
o Mining and MRM business processes, Mine Health System Act,
Explosives Act (other legal), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment
Skills, National Water Act (other legal)
o Functional understanding of IWULA Waste Management and
Environmental monitoring requirements
Computer Literacy Skills
o MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Basic user)
o Risk Management discipline (functional) specific software / tolls (Basic
user)
o Discipline specific software and tolls (Basic user of MicroStation,
Map3D, D Block etc. or equivalent)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
-Medically fit
-Drivers license

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.

Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.
