SUPERINTENDENT ENGINEERING (ELECTRICAL)
Our client in a leading Iron Ore Mine 29 kms from Kathu, Northern Cape invites highly skilled, motivated and dedicated individuals to apply for this unique opportunity
Experience: 8 years | Qualification: NQF 5 Planned Maintenance Management or NQF 4 Supervisory certificate or ARM or equivalent.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
To ensure equipment availability and reliability through application
of maintenance management systems and resources to achieve and
support production targets, which includes but not limited to:
Engineering operations; Improvement optimization; People management; Contractor management; Budget and cost control; SHERQ; Work Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS
-Engineering Technical Trade Test with a minimum of N4
Engineering certificate
-Planned Maintenance Management certificate ( NQF level 5)
Supervisory Certificate (NQF level 4 150 Credits) or ARM or
equivalent
-MDP/ ARM Management / Leadership Equivalent certificate
(NQF level 6)
EXPERIENCE
Essential unless otherwise indicated)
-Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience as a team/
project leader/ supervisor in mining or heavy industry
maintenance environment in plant and fleet
-Minimum of five (5) years operational experience in a mining or
heavy industry maintenance environment in plant and fleet as a
qualified artisan (Total of 8 years of experience)
-Equipment specific experience / exposure:
o MV Reticulation and Switching (Power Reticulation)
o Capacitor Banks and other Energy-saving Initiatives
o Diesel Generator and Back-Up Power Supplies
o Electrical Fault-finding and Protection
o Electrical building maintenance standards
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Computer literacy
o Basic user of MS Office, JD Edwards, SCADA; Intermediate user of MineSuite
Functional Processing, maintenance and engineering equipment
knowledge and skills
o Process, equipment knowledge and maintenance theory related to crushing,
screening, conveying, stacking and reclaiming, gravity separation (jigging) ,
de-slimes and de-grid cyclones, water recovery (thickeners), tailing disposal,
sampling, dust suppression and extraction and power reticulation
o Process flow of the production processes of crushing; conveyor & ROM
stacking, on-grade wash and screening, off-grade wash and screening,
beneficiation, high pressure roller crusher, product conveying & stacking,
process water & slimes handling, product reclaiming and loading
o Automated process control philosophy, asset management and strategy,
EAMS business processes, condition monitoring, relevant original equipment
manufacturer training, process control and optimization
Fault finding and diagnostic
o Root cause analysis, report writing, problem solving and trend analysis
o Ability to identify equipment faults
SHERQ knowledge and skills
o First Aid (level 1), SHERQ standards and procedures, integrated risk
management and assessment
Management
o Planning, leading, organising and controlling at middle management level
Statutory knowledge
o MHSA and other applicable legislation
Commercial Awareness; Policies and procedures; Interpersonal skills and
Reporting
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

-Medically fit - Meet required medical fitness standards; Drivers license - Valid Code B/EB driver's license; Legal Appointment 2.6.1 or 2.9.2 MHSA
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.
