About the role:
The Sr. Project Manager/ Project Manager LiftEd - Development Impact Bond will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and evaluation of professional development and capacity building programs for teachers, Head Masters (HMs), and government officials within the MCD project zones.
Understanding of FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) and prior experience in either Hindi or Maths as a subject (taught it or trained teachers on it).
Key Responsibilities:
Program Design & Delivery:
- Lead the design and delivery of high-quality training content for both teachers and school leaders.
- Design, pilot, and develop teacher training and support interventions (e.g., Professional Learning Circles, Recognition mechanisms, remedial learning).
- Create both digital and face-to-face training courses for teachers and HMs, specifically referencing assessment-based instruction.
- Apply deep content knowledge and classroom experience to develop training that shifts teacher mindset, knowledge, and practice.
- Lead the piloting of interventions, document learnings, and evolve the design with innovation and flexibility to achieve impact at scale.
Team & Stakeholder Management:
- Manage and coach 2-3 associates on facilitation, content design, and other workstream-related skills (potential responsibility).
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners (consultants, educational organizations) to integrate best practices.
- Work in collaboration with government counterparts (academic officials) to co-create and implement interventions.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Work with the in-house M&E team and external experts to develop appropriate project evaluation tools.
- Utilize data captured to inform decision-making and track overall project impact.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Education or related disciplines is highly preferred.
- Work Experience (Minimum): At least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing professional development programs for teachers.
- Direct Teaching Experience (Preferred): At least 2 years of direct classroom experience (primary or secondary grades is a plus).
- System Awareness: Experience of working in government systems and awareness of education structures in India is highly desirable.
- Content Expertise (Must-Have): Understanding of FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) and prior experience in either Hindi or Maths as a subject (taught it or trained teachers on it).
- Management (Must-Have): Previous experience in managing people/teams.
