Role Overview:

This Assistant Manager role is key to securing funding for deploying EdTech solutions to underprivileged K-12 students in India. The person will drive the entire fundraising cycle from pipeline creation and lead qualification to proposal negotiation and deal closure across CSR, NGOs, and Foundations. Responsibilities include outbound sales, researching RFPs in the Education sector, drafting proposals, conducting partner due diligence, and managing client relationships to drive significant revenue growth in the social sector portfolio.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Target Account Sales and Pipeline Management:

  • Lead Generation & Qualification: Conduct detailed, ongoing, targeted research to identify and qualify new potential partners (CSR, Foundations - Domestic & International, and NGOs) whose mandates align with K-12 education, digital literacy, and social equity in India.
  • RFP/Opportunity Management: Proactively search for and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Expression of Interest (EOIs) in the development sector for Education, coordinating all aspects of the bid process to ensure timely and competitive submissions.
  • Pipeline Ownership: Build and rigorously manage a robust sales pipeline using the company's CRM, ensuring accurate forecasting and proactive follow-up to move opportunities from initial contact to closure.
  • Network & Relationship Sales: Proactively leverage and expand a personal and professional network within the Indian and international social EdTech ecosystem to secure high-level meetings and drive introductory fundraising conversations with key decision-makers (e.g., Corporate CSR Heads, Non-profit and Foundation Directors).

2. Solution Pitching & Deal Closure:

  • Customised Fundraising Strategy: Design and deliver compelling, tailored fundraising and grant proposals, product demonstrations, and presentations that clearly articulate the ROI and Social Impact value of the EdTech solutions.
  • Negotiation and Closure: Participate in proposal negotiations, finalise terms, and execute agreements to successfully close deals and meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively network and secure introductory fundraising conversations with key decision-makers (e.g., Corporate CSR Heads, NGO/Foundation Trustees/Management, Directors, Program heads) to drive growth.

3. Sales Support & Documentation:

  • Proposal Development: Draft and customise high-quality, persuasive grant applications, funding proposals, and presentations that clearly connect the impact model to the Partner/Client's specific objectives and goals.
  • Collateral Coordination: Handle all client/partner-facing communications related to fundraising, coordinating the drafting of necessary agreements and internal documentation post-closure.
  • Upselling & Account Growth: Maintain post-sales support and a feedback loop with key partners to identify opportunities for upselling, renewal, and expanding the scope of existing projects.
  • Campaign Support: Support and coordinate various corporate fundraising campaigns and events (Online/Offline), handling external communication and coordinating logistics as required.

4. Partnership Management & Due Diligence:

  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential partner organisations (NGOs, implementing agencies) as per the company's assessment framework to ensure credibility and compliance before onboarding.
  • Documentation Coordination: Handle client/partner-facing communications and facilitate the drafting of necessary documents/agreements with partners, coordinating closely with internal teams.
  • Program Support: Provide a dedicated feedback loop and post-sales/upselling support to the Business Operations team for existing as well as new initiatives.
  • Non-Profit Collaboration: Demonstrate direct experience or strong exposure to working effectively with non-profits, CSR companies, and Foundations to build and manage a network for collaboration.

5. Reporting & Internal / External Communication:

  • Impact Tracking and Feedback Reports: Monitor the preparation and sharing of accurate and timely feedback emails, monthly reports/presentations from the Business Operations and Impact team for corporate partners and program funders, detailing the social and educational impact achieved.
  • Communication Ownership: Own the day-to-day internal and external communications on the Social sector growth portfolio, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Business Ops, Marketing).
  • Ecosystem-Led Content Strategy: Provide data-backed input, field intelligence, donor objections, and sector priorities to Marketing to shape thought-leadership content and collateral (videos, brochures, blogs).

Required Educational Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in CSR / Development sector fundraising, program pitching, business development, or partnership management, with a clear focus on the Education segment.
  • Strong, direct exposure to working in the Indian market with a demonstrated network in CSR, foundations, or non-profits is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in raising funds for charitable causes, particularly for social impact in Education.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong Presentation Skills to effectively pitch programs.
  • Capability to produce high-quality Documentation (proposals, reports, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of CSR priorities, reports, compliance, and due diligence.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace/MS Office, basic CRM hygiene, and project trackers such as ClickUp, Asana, Notion, etc.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory in both spoken and written formats.
  • Must be ready to travel based on business needs.
