About the role:

The Finance Associate will support the core finance function by ensuring accurate accounting, timely statutory compliance, and effective coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders. This role requires high attention to detail, a sound understanding of accounting principles, and disciplined financial record management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management (40%)

  • Payroll Support: Collect and validate employee-related data from HR for monthly payroll processing.
  • Verification: Verify employee bank details and supporting documentation to ensure absolute accuracy.
  • Systems Management: Validate and maintain employee data on HRMS platforms (e.g., Keka).
  • Accounts Payable: Review vendor invoices and bills for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal policy.
  • Tracking: Maintain comprehensive payment trackers for both vendors and employees.
  • Data Entry: Ensure accurate and timely data entry into accounting systems (e.g., Tally ERP).

2. Statutory & Organizational Compliance (40%)

  • Tax Filings: Prepare and file monthly/quarterly TDS returns within statutory timelines.
  • Statutory Dues: Ensure timely payment and filing of PF and Professional Tax (PT) returns.
  • Reconciliation: Perform GST reconciliations between books of accounts and GST returns.
  • Reporting: Review TDS deductions and challans; generate/issue Form 16 and Form 16A post-filing.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate with consultants, auditors, and internal teams during annual or periodic audits.

3. Internal Coordination & Reporting (20%)

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with HR, Programs, and Operations teams to gather and verify finance-related data.
  • Onboarding: Ensure new hires receive access to necessary finance and HR systems.
  • Process Discipline: Issue monthly reminders for bill submissions, claims, and documentation.
  • Documentation: Maintain audit-ready financial records and comprehensive documentation.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Graduation in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or compliance roles.
  • Technical: High proficiency in Tally ERP and working knowledge of TDS software.
  • Compliance: Strong familiarity with Accounting Standards and statutory filing requirements.
  • Soft Skills: High level of integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral English; functional knowledge of the regional language is preferred.
  • Work Style: Ability to take initiative and work autonomously in a semi-structured environment.
