About role:
This role is pivotal in driving the design, delivery, and quality of the Future Skills (Artificial Intelligence and Career) curriculum, and in building the capacity of regional stakeholders. The role holder will ensure all deliverables are met to a high standard. This involves a blend of curriculum expertise, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Design and Development:
- Curriculum Ownership: Take ownership of the end-to-end curriculum lifecycle, from design to delivery, ensuring quality and alignment with regional needs.
- Content Management: Analyze existing curriculum materials, conduct thorough research, and customize, create, and curate content that is relevant and impactful for the State and its stakeholders. This includes tailoring content to diverse learning needs and contexts.
- Stakeholder Enablement: Lead the effective creation, curation, and capacity building initiatives for internal teams, educators, school leaders, and government officials.
- Curriculum Framework Development: Develop a detailed curriculum framework, including comprehensive session plans for each academic year, in accordance with the overall State direction and strategic plan.
- Collaborative Curriculum Design: Co-create the curriculum with Educators and Learners, designing holistic learning environments and experiences with the internal team. This involves incorporating feedback and ensuring the curriculum is learner-centered.
- Consultant Management: Lead discussions with internal and external teams (consultants), and manage the processes for onboarding consultants/agencies for content development and training, as needed. This includes defining project scope, managing budgets, and ensuring quality deliverables.
- Learning Journey Design: Define and map out the learning journeys for key stakeholders, including educators, school leaders, students, and the Quest internal implementation team. This involves understanding their specific needs and designing targeted interventions.
- Capacity Building Frameworks: Develop comprehensive capacity-building frameworks and plans for all key stakeholders, and deliver training as a Master Trainer. This includes designing workshops, developing training materials, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
- Coordination and Support: Provide coordination support for curriculum design, content curation, capacity building, and facilitation, working closely with the central Learning Experience Team. This includes scheduling meetings, managing resources, and ensuring smooth communication.
- Implementation and Monitoring: Develop and oversee a plan for the effective implementation of the curriculum content, including regular monitoring and follow-up to assess its impact and identify areas for improvement. Use feedback to drive continuous improvement and close any gaps.
- Curriculum Review: Participate in and lead curriculum review meetings with State departments, such as the SCERT and SSA, as per the State plan.
- Innovation and Experimentation: Drive experimentation and innovation in learning experiences, including content, curriculum design, and capacity building strategies, tailored for the State context.
- Roadmap Development: Collaborate with the State lead and the State program coordination team to develop a detailed roadmap for content and capacity building requirements, aligning with State objectives.
- New Project Collaboration: Collaborate on emerging content projects and the design of new learning experience journeys within the Schools program ecosystem, based on the specific requirements of the State.
2. Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- M&E Collaboration: Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team to ensure the data capture framework aligns with the overall curriculum framework and capacity building design. This includes defining key performance indicators and developing data collection tools.
- Research Collaboration: Work with the research team to develop frameworks for understanding learner and educator personas, informing curriculum design and capacity-building efforts.
- State Department Collaboration: Collaborate with the State education department for regular curriculum reviews and necessary course corrections, ensuring alignment with State educational goals.
- Community of Practice Development: Create and nurture a Community of Practice comprising key Educator personas, to foster a movement and drive sustained adoption of the Future Skills curriculum within the State.
- Communications Collaboration: Collaborate with the communications team to develop and disseminate content on specific curriculum-related themes, raising awareness and promoting best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ensure relevant case stories, testimonials, and other evidence of impact are documented in a clear and accessible manner, and shared with the Communications team and donors for reporting and other internal and external communication purposes.
- Internal Capacity Building: Build the capacity of internal team members to effectively introduce the curriculum to all key stakeholders and demonstrate content-related activities in schools.
- Implementation Support: Build the capacity of team members to ensure the effective implementation of activities, and the use of templates and frameworks designed for key stakeholder capacity building.
- State Coordination: Collaborate closely with the State coordination team to ensure excellent teamwork, and the delivery of high-quality outputs and deliverables, in accordance with the State plan and annual objectives.
3. Reporting:
- Meetings and Appraisals: Participate in regular line management meetings and performance appraisal processes.
- M&E System Development: Work with monitoring and evaluation focal persons to develop robust monitoring and reporting systems that align with the Strategic Framework and donor requirements.
- Progress Tracking: Collaborate with the M&E or data focal point to track program progress, based on the established Monitoring and Evaluation framework.
- Data Availability: Ensure all relevant program data is collected and readily available for timely reporting to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Tool Utilization: Ensure that all team members understand and utilize the monitoring tools effectively for accurate and timely reporting, in coordination with the State M&E focal point.
- Report Submission: Submit all required monitoring reports on time, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Process Documentation: Ensure the program process is thoroughly documented, and that sufficient case studies are developed to demonstrate program impact and progress.
- Data Analysis and Utilization: Ensure that data is analyzed to inform decision-making, and that findings are effectively integrated into planning and review meetings.
- State-Level Reviews: Lead Level 3 reviews at a State level along with the State coordination team, ensuring that presentations are prepared and reviews happen in a smooth, timely and productive manner.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in implementing school transformation approaches within the government school context.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience working with artificial intelligence (AI) and coding/computational skills/STEM is essential.
- Domain Expertise: Experience working with Life/Career skills, Gender, and other related thematic areas is highly desirable.
- Curriculum & Capacity Building: Proven experience in curriculum development, implementation design, and educator capacity building, including experience working directly with State education departments.
- Learning Agility: A strong willingness to learn and influence prevailing practices within the education ecosystem.
- Educational Background: Relevant educational qualifications for effectively handling pedagogy, STEM, gender, and life skills content.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Telugu (working fluency or native speaker) is preferred.
- IT Proficiency: Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the State.
- Collaboration & Independence: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
