Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic Social Media & Communications Specialist to lead our digital presence, engage our community, and enhance our outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social impact, skilled in content creation, and adept at managing multi-platform communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Manage and grow our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
  • Create, schedule, and post engaging content (graphics, videos, blogs, reels, etc.).
  • Monitor trends, track performance, and optimize content accordingly.

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Develop compelling narratives that highlight our impact, beneficiaries, and programs.
  • Write blogs, newsletters, and success stories for digital and print media.

  • Design graphics, posters, and promotional material using Canva or similar tools.
  • Capture and edit photos/videos to showcase activities and impact.

Public Relations & Outreach

  • Draft press releases, media pitches, and partnership proposals.

  • Collaborate with influencers, media houses, and content creators for campaigns.
  • Maintain relationships with journalists, donors, and key stakeholders.

  • Support fundraising and advocacy campaigns through digital storytelling.

Website & Email Marketing

  • Maintain and update the NGO’s website with fresh content.

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns (newsletters, donor updates, event invitations).
  • Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.Masters/Specialist certification is a bonus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
  • Strong writing skills in English

  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other content creation tools.

  • Experience in video editing and photography is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of SEO, analytics tools, and campaign performance tracking.

  • Passion for social impact, gender issues, and community engagement.
