JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Inclusive Education Specialist(s) will be responsible for developing methodology, framework and tools for inclusive education and facilitating the smooth execution of project plans, while closely adhering to specified timelines.

Key Deliverable:

(1) Develop a comprehensive methodology, framework, and a set of tools for conducting diagnostic assessments and facilitating self-assessment, with a specific focus on addressing the diverse needs of students in the context of special and inclusive education. (2) Facilitate the creation of a robust methodology, framework, and set of tools, along with appropriate timelines, for conducting a thorough capacity review of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) regarding their inclusive education initiatives.

(3) Create a wide range of learning resources tailored for SCERT, DIET faculty, teachers, and students, specifically designed to enhance their understanding and knowledge of inclusive and special education practices.

(4) Organize and facilitate orientation and capacity building sessions for SCERT, DIET, State Resource Groups (SRGs), and teachers, aiming to enhance their competencies in implementing inclusive and special education strategies effectively.

(5) Conduct quality assurance visits to monitor and evaluate the implementation of inclusive and special education programs, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications and Experience:

(1) PhD in education/ teacher development or related discipline with minimum 2-3 years of experience in working on training of teachers on inclusive education;

(2) Master's/ Bachelor's degree in education, teacher development, or a related discipline with minimum 6-7 years of experience in working on training of teachers on inclusive education.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Preference will be given to candidates who have proficiency in Bangla, Kokbarok, or other dialects of Tripura;

(2) Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and collaboration skills; 

(3) Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and community members;

(4) Familiarity with educational programs, initiatives, and best practices for the special education inclusion in the education sector in India;

(5) Ability to use assistive technology and other tool to support the students with disabilities in accessing curriculum and participating in classroom activities;

(6) Ability to design and deliver instruction that meets the diverse need of students including those with disabilities;

(7) Knowledge and ability to develop classroom management strategies including special need of students being supported in the area such as Behaviour Management, Autism Spectrum Disorders, or Specific Learning Disabilities etc;

(8) Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools for tracking project progress. 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The consolidated remuneration for the position is Rs. 10.62 lacs per annum and will commensurate with experience and salary history of the candidate.

6. DURATION OF CONTRACT:

The contract for the Inclusive Education Specialist(s) position shall be for 11 months including a three-month probationary period. Following the successful completion of the

probationary period, the contract will continue for the remaining period of 11 months and at the end of contract period, it will be renewed for another 11 months subject to satisfactory performance evaluations and mutual agreement between the employee and Transform Schools.
