Position Overview

The Program Coordinator Gender will be responsible for managing the gender-specific demo- program in Niyamatabad Block in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh. In addition to that the position will also extend supervisory support to the process of imbibing gender-responsive dimensions in other demo-projects in adjacent districts. The positions will be located at Chandauli and will report to the District Program Manager Chandauli.

Roles and responsibilities

Manage the gender-responsive demo-program in Niyamatabad Block ensuring achievement of expected outcomes as per designated timeline. The responsibilities will include liaison with local government functionaries and representing org in external events.

Supervisory and coordination support to other demo-programs in the state.

Ensure effective data collection, analysis and sharing with concerned teams.

Ensure effective functioning of field teams and conduct of training sessions and quarterly planning-learning sessions at block and district levels.

Routine reporting both internal and government as required; and also support in donor reporting.

Educational Qualifications 

Masters degree (or equivalent) in elementary education or other development-related fields. Any other professional qualification relevant to program management desirable.

Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in managing outcome-based programs to strengthen government system, preferably in the area of primary education.

Ability of data-based decision making

Ability to articulate effectively in both written and verbal communications in both Hindi and English.

Proven ability to lead a team.
