Our mission is to collaborate with businesses and execute CSR initiatives throughout the fiscal year, particularly focusing on our Personalized Disaster Response (PDR) project.
Role Overview:
The Project Head for Disaster Relief Response will be critical in leading and managing disaster response initiatives, ensuring effective coordination, communication, and partnership development. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate high-pressure situations while maintaining focus on achieving organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the disaster relief response team, providing guidance, support, and direction to achieve project goals.
- Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to timelines, resources, and strategies as needed.
- Ensure team members have access to necessary support, resources, and training to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
- Facilitate regular reviews and discussions to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for enhancing team performance and efficiency.
- Organize sessions or provide resources to support team members in managing mental stress and well-being during high-pressure situations.
NGO Engagement and Partnership Development:
- Engage with NGOs to understand their preferences and requirements for receiving information and support during disaster response efforts.
- Collaborate with the team to develop a comprehensive handbook outlining step-by-step procedures and guidelines for NGOs to follow during disaster response.
- Establish partnerships with corporates and government officials to garner support and resources for disaster response initiatives.
Communication and Advocacy:
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the project, representing the organization to the media, donors, and the public.
- Advocate for the needs of disaster-affected communities and raise awareness about relief efforts.
Project Management and Implementation:
- Oversee the integration of API systems to automate communication processes with NGOs during disaster times.
- Implement effective outreach channels such as WhatsApp broadcasts to ensure timely and relevant communication with NGOs.
- Develop standardized templates for pre and post-disaster communication, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging across all stages of disaster response.
- Research and select appropriate Project Management tools to facilitate efficient coordination, task management, and communication within the team.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Monitor the implementation of relief activities to assess progress, impact, and effectiveness.
- Conduct evaluations to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in disaster response efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in disaster management, humanitarian aid, public health, or related field.
- Total of 8-10 years of experience in project management with a minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in disaster relief management, emergency response, or a closely related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage teams and projects in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven experience in partnership development, advocacy, and project management.
- Knowledge of disaster response protocols, humanitarian principles, and relevant policies and regulations.
- Proficient in a wide range of technical skills, including: Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for data processing and management tasks.
- Experienced in utilizing project management tools such as Trello, Zoho, Salesforce, among others, for efficient project coordination and task management.
