Pratham Books' notable initiative includes StoryWeaver, the world's largest open-source digital platform that allows users to read, create, and translate stories. StoryWeaver hosts thousands of stories in multiple languages, enabling educators, parents, and children to access a vast repository of literature for free. This platform also empowers users to contribute their own stories and translations, fostering a global community of storytellers and readers.

To build a library movement in India, Pratham Books hosts the "Donate-a-Book" crowdfunding initiative, which allows individuals and organizations to contribute towards distributing books to underserved communities. This initiative helps bridge the gap between donors and beneficiaries, ensuring that more children can develop a love for reading.

Pratham Books' extensive network and innovative approaches have significantly impacted the reading ecosystem, reaching millions of children and educators worldwide.

We are looking for an Associate Manager- Human Resources:

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual who will lead the HR team at Pratham Books and partner with the organisation on strategic initiatives. In this position, you will support the entire gamut of HR activities including talent attraction, talent engagement and talent retention. This position reports to the CEO.

The job incumbent will require strong people-oriented skills as well as knowledge of statutory compliances. They will also need to possess project management skills like multitasking, prioritising, networking skills and should be able to work with stringent timelines. They will work with multiple teams within the organization on a regular basis. Good interpersonal and communication skills are also a key aspect of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Attraction

Partner with respective hiring managers on hiring needs and requirements

Handle the full spectrum of recruitment process including monthly and quarterly reports and an updated repository of job descriptions for all roles in the organisation

Onboarding and Induction

Drive the induction and onboarding program for new joinees to ensure they fit in well and at all levels culturally, socially and understand the organisational goals and priorities

Facilitate regular feedback sessions with new joinees

Performance Management

Drive the annual performance appraisal process

Play an active role in guiding managers to set SMART KRAs for their teams Compensation and Benefits

Handle monthly payroll processes for the organisation using HRMS

Participate in compensation review cycles including variable payouts and incentives

Benchmark and provide insights from the market to design competitive compensation and benefit structure from time to time

Employee Engagement

Create and drive employee engagement initiatives in line with Pratham Books mission, core values and employer value proposition, including a quarterly employee engagement calendar

Support Pratham Books to design and implement employee engagement surveys and drive external surveys (like Great Place To Work) in line with the organisations brand and people philosophy

HR Operations, HR Policies, Employee Safety, Welfare and Wellness Manage HRMS for the employee life cycle including the employee exit process

Manage employee benefits and serve as a liaison between employees and insurance providers

Rewards and Recognition

Drive R&R engagement initiatives in line with the brand philosophy and principles

Learning and Development

Identify training needs, publish the annual training calendar and work closely with external agencies to design and implement customized training programs and workshops

Build and promote a culture of learning within the organisation

People Analytics

Create insights (including dashboards and reports) from interviews and surveys for the Leadership team on people strategies and the overall health of the organization

Required skills:

Post graduate with minimum 3-6 years of work experience as HR Generalist Knowledge of HRMS - GreytHR preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work with cross functional teams

Ability to create structures and strong processes

Experience of working as an ‘Individual Contributor’ without close supervision Understanding of compliance and statutory requirements

Using data regularly to support decisions making

Nice to have but not mandatory:

- Working experience in the NGO sector
