Aasraa Trust was established in 2009 to work with society’s most underprivileged and vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Dehradun. Aasraa is not just a charity but a vehicle for empowerment through education, skills training, and nutrition, healthcare and shelter homes. Starting with street level mobilization, Aasraa uses a multi-faced approach that prepares children for mainstream education and transition to higher studies and skills training.

Aasraa is certified by National Institute of Open Schooling and works with the education department of Uttarakhand to improve the quality of education at 9-government school in Dehradun. Aasraa is also implementing a Girl Education Program in four girls Inter Collages in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused and special needs children.

Aasraa started 14 years ago with 35 children and it now supports over 9000 children from the streets and slums across 50 projects in Dehradun district.

Purpose of the Job 

To oversee and ensure the effective functioning of Aasraa Trust's operational activities.

Objective of the role

This role focuses on coordinating programs, managing resources, and contributing to strategic plans to meet the goals of Aasraa Trust.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with program managers to ensure smooth operations of education, vocational training, medical care, and shelter programs.
2. Plan budgets and resources needed for daily activities with the support of project teams.
3. Manage financial, human, and material resources effectively, working closely with the finance team.
4. Prepare reports on program performance and share them with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Visit program locations to ensure quality care and support for beneficiaries and staff.
6. Ensure facilities and infrastructure, such as shelter homes and schools, are well-maintained and secure.
7. Create and implement plans and processes to improve operational efficiency.
8. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align operations with organizational objectives.
9. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
10. Build partnerships with other organizations to enhance the impact of Aasraa Trust.

Education Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.

Core experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in managing operations, preferably in the non-profit sector.

Preferable Knowledge/Experience

• Understanding of budgeting, resource management, and program coordination.

Competencies Required

• Technical competencies: Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities and knowledge of financial and resource management.
• Behavioral competencies: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Leadership and the ability to motivate teams.
