Job Overview

The position is to lead the team responsible for ideating, managing and executing various campaigns and event partnership at United Way Mumbai. The predominant campaign is the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM). TMM is Indias biggest philanthropic sporting event, annually raising more than INR 40 crores for nearly 250 NGOs with hundreds of corporate partners and individuals supporting them. As the official philanthropy partner of the TMM we serve as the philanthropic exchange connecting donors to NGOs by creating and implementing an organized and structured charity platform.

In this position the Deputy manager works closely with all participating NGOs to build their capacities to help them leverage the fundraising platform provided. This is a high visibility position requiring strong levels of maturity and intelligence in nurturing and maintaining relationships with a large set of stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

  • Create, improve and communicate the philanthropy structure to maximize the fund raising capacity and visibility of all participating charities via the event.
  • Maintain excellent processes to ensure flawless execution of the philanthropy structure.
  • Manage the entire funds cycle- raising, receiving, accounting, reconciling, disbursing and reporting.
  • Create and implement a communication strategy to leverage the visibility of the charity aspect of the TMM and various campaigns
  • Conceptualize, lead and run various online campaigns
  • Manage and develop relationships with NGOs, Corporate, Fundraisers, Donors, vendors and partners.

Profile Requisites

  • Organized and an excellent communicator- written as well as oral. Creative and innovative thinker. Problem solver. Solution oriented.
  • Have a good listening skill and be of an empathetic nature. Your ability to connect with people and gain trust quickly are essential
  • You need to be self-motivated and goal-oriented. Taking initiative and ability to think out of the box is a required skill for the job
  • Great command of MS Office and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Being of curious mind is a bonus to the position
  • 6+ years' of work experience and Bachelors or Masters degree with a focus on humanities, marketing, communication or business administration preferred
  • Great understanding of social and traditional media and comfortable with the use of technology to improve the effectiveness of the platform.
  • Have demonstrable experience handling large and complex activities/events/processes.
  • An understanding of the nonprofit sector is desirable but not essential. Sensitivity to the sector is essential.
  • A peoples person with natural flair for developing relationships and network. Your interest in others and your desire to make connection must be authentic

Hiring Process: 3 rounds of interviews + assignment (usually post 1st round).
Final round interview mandatorily in-person. The process will take 7-15 days
