About the role:
The Senior Manager will lead the Fellowship program, serving as the strategic nodal point for all key stakeholders, including schools, fellows, implementation partners, donors, and the central leadership team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end success of the fellowship, from high-level strategy and monitoring to the hands-on mentorship of program staff across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Program Design
- Fellowship Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the long-term fellowship strategy to ensure scalability and impact.
- M&E Oversight: Design and lead the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework to track program effectiveness and fellow performance.
- L&D Development: Design and implement Leadership & Development (L&D) modules for both the fellows and the internal staff team to foster professional growth.
2. Operations & People Management
- Team Mentorship: Coach and mentor (Assistant) Program Managers to drive excellence in stakeholder management and fellow outcomes across two or more cities.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between schools, community partners, and donors to ensure program alignment.
- Partnership Building: Develop strategic partnerships within the education ecosystem to strengthen the fellowship model and resource base.
3. Pedagogical & Outcome Management
- Curriculum Alignment: Ensure the fellowship interventions align with various Indian curricula and pedagogical best practices.
- Outcome Delivery: Drive data-backed, outcome-oriented plans through collective team effort and rigorous field monitoring.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Qualifications: Any Graduate or Post-graduate degree; completion of a recognized Fellowship program is highly preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record in managing people and complex projects.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Experience in teaching and/or educational content creation is desirable.
- Niche Experience: Prior experience in designing or managing a fellowship program will be considered a significant advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- People Management: Exceptional skills in team building, networking, and active listening.
- Pedagogical Knowledge: A strong understanding of the pedagogical aspects of primary/secondary education and current Indian curricula.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Tamil.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office and data management tools.
- Emotional Intelligence: High level of emotional maturity to empathize with the perspectives of team members while maintaining accountability.
