About the role:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about data and can assess why, what, and how we collect data, and build something that helps our teams make smarter decisions and tells more compelling stories about our work. You'll be designing how we capture and understand the experiences of the communities we serve, ensuring their voices inform everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:

Build Our Data Infrastructure:

  • Design our evidence and data strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assess our current data systems, identify gaps and opportunities, and design an updated version of the system.
  • Create reliable data flows between our field programs, helpline, and digital tools.
  • Build dashboards and reports that help teams across the organization use data effectively.

Lead Qualitative Data Design and Collection:

  • Design and implement research studies to capture meaningful insights from adolescents and communities.
  • Develop frameworks for collecting and analyzing numbers, stories, experiences, and feedback.
  • Train different teams on effective data collection practices.

Manage Technology Integration:

  • Design a tech integration strategy and research on the best tools to effectively produce evidence.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and tech vendors on app improvements for field workers and helpline staff.
  • Support the integration of our services with government health systems.

Turn Data into Action:

  • Create clear, compelling reports and data-driven storytelling for different audiences.
  • Train and build capacity in internal teams to engage with and interpret data for program improvements.
  • Strengthen the organization's positioning as a leader by publishing rigorous evidence through reports, papers, workshops, and conferences.

Skills & Qualifications: 

Experience & Education:

  • 4-5 years in research and data analysis, or technology roles in social impact, preferably in public health, gender equity, or other intersectional developmental domains.
  • Bachelor's or master's in data science, Public Health, Technology, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

  • Comfortable with data analysis tools (Excel, R, STATA, Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio).
  • Experience with technology-based programs like helplines, health apps, or digital support systems.
  • Understanding of AI, machine learning, or automation tools is a plus.

Key Qualities:

  • You can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with government partners or large institutions.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building systems from scratch.
  • Genuinely interested in using technology to address social challenges.

Must-haves:

  • Kannada and English proficiency are essential.
  • Willingness to travel for field visits.
