About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager or Associate Director for Expansion to lead the establishment of our presence in new geographies. This role covers everything from pre-entry groundwork to complete greenfield setup and overseeing the first six months of operations. You will be responsible for building government relationships, setting up state systems, hiring and inducting the team, and laying the operational foundation for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- State Entry & Government Relations: Lead exploratory engagement with State Education Departments and senior officials to secure approvals, MoUs, and permissions.
- Greenfield Setup: Develop comprehensive expansion plans and blueprints including academic, operational, staffing, and administrative requirements.
- Team Leadership: Manage the entire hiring cycle for the new state team and establish structured onboarding, induction, and accountability frameworks.
- Operational Systems: Coordinate with central teams to set up the state office, infrastructure, financial mechanisms, HR, and compliance systems.
- Program Readiness: Oversee initial implementation and troubleshooting during the first six months to ensure a seamless handover to long-term state leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: Master's degree in Education, Public Policy, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Practical Expertise: Proven track record in setting up new operations and building high-performing teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Indian education system, specifically early grade literacy and numeracy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional relationship-building skills with strong networks in government and the development sector.
- Execution & Leadership: Strategic thinker with a strong execution orientation and the ability to work under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills in English; proficiency in local languages is preferred.
