About the role
As the Women's Agency Program Lead within the Women Empowerment Portfolio, you will take a leadership role in designing and implementing programs that enhance the agency of women at the household, community, and governance levels.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Program Implementation: Develop and lead the implementation of programs focused on enhancing women's agency within the Women Empowerment Portfolio.
Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to understand and address the unique challenges faced by women in different contexts.
Capacity Building: Design and execute workshops and training sessions to build the leadership and advocacy skills of women participants.
Partnership Management: Establish partnerships with external organizations and experts to bring diverse perspectives and resources to women's agency programs.
Community Mobilization: Lead the coordination of community-level initiatives to promote women's participation in decision-making processes.
Policy Advocacy: Advocate for policy changes that support and strengthen women's agency in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the impact of women's agency programs, gathering insights for continuous improvement.
Knowledge and Competencies:
- Demonstrated positive shifts in women's agency at the household, community, and governance levels.
- Comprehensive understanding and successful addressing of the unique challenges faced by women across different contexts.
- Enhanced leadership and advocacy skills among women participants through effective workshops and training sessions.
- Successful establishment of strategic partnerships with external organizations and subject matter experts.
- Impactful execution of community-level initiatives promoting women's participation in decision-making processes.
- Advocacy efforts leading to policy changes that support and strengthen women's agency.
- Robust monitoring and evaluation systems providing actionable insights for program enhancement.
Educational Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and implementing programs focused on women's empowerment.
Track Record: Proven track record of successful leadership in women's agency initiatives.
Functional Competencies:
- Proficiency in leveraging technology and digital tools for advancing women's agency.
- Strong advocacy and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with gender and youth empowerment in a development context is highly desirable (plus).
- Demonstrated passion for advancing gender equality and women's empowerment.
