Role overview
The Program Lead - Economic & Social Resilience for Adolescent Girls will lead the implementation and scale-up of programs focused on strengthening the socio-economic empowerment and resilience of adolescent girls.
The role will drive interventions across life skills, skilling, entrepreneurship, health, nutrition, and socio-economic behavior change to enable adolescent girls to become confident, resilient, and economically empowered individuals. The incumbent will work closely with internal teams, implementation partners, communities, government stakeholders, and external experts to build sustainable and high-impact programs within the Women Empowerment portfolio.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Program Design & Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of programs focused on the economic and social resilience of adolescent girls within the portfolio.
Core Interventions: Drive initiatives around life skills, skilling, entrepreneurship, socio-economic behavior change, nutrition, health, and overall well-being.
Problem Solving: Collaborate with internal teams and implementation partners to identify and address challenges faced by adolescent girls across diverse communities.
Partnership Management: Build and manage relationships with NGOs, government bodies, community organizations, and external experts to strengthen program impact and outreach.
Community Engagement: Lead community initiatives aimed at building confidence, resilience, leadership, and agency among adolescent girls.
Advocacy: Advocate for policy and ecosystem changes that support the socio-economic readiness and empowerment of adolescent girls.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Track, monitor, and evaluate program outcomes and impact, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and scalability.
Operations & Budgeting: Manage comprehensive program planning, team coordination, budgets, reporting, and stakeholder engagement to ensure seamless execution.
Operating Network:
Internal Interactions: Portfolio internal teams, communication teams, research teams, partnerships teams, and senior leadership.
External Interactions: External implementation partners, NGOs, government bodies, community organizations, and domain experts.
Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and implementing programs specifically focused on women's empowerment.
Knowledge, Competencies, and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of gender dynamics, adolescent development, socio-economic empowerment, and community ecosystems.
- Demonstrated experience in program design, stakeholder management, cross-sector partnerships, and government engagement.
- Proven experience working within multi-stakeholder and grassroots implementation environments is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, advocacy, analytical, and team leadership capabilities.
- A creative and innovative mindset capable of designing programs that resonate with diverse women’s needs.
- Ability to successfully navigate and influence complex socio-cultural contexts for effective program implementation.
