About the job Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer
Perth, WA
Ground Connect is supporting a growing Western Australian geotechnical consultancy seeking to add one or two new people to its team.
We are interested in speaking with both:
- Engineering Geologists or Geotechnical Engineers with approximately 1-4 years' experience undertaking site investigations and field-based work; and
- More experienced professionals (6+ years) looking to combine technical delivery, project management, proposal writing and client interaction.
This is an opportunity to work across a diverse range of geotechnical and engineering geology projects throughout Western Australia while building practical experience in the field and developing strong client relationships.
The Role
Responsibilities may include:
- Geotechnical site investigations
- Logging and supervision of drilling programmes
- Working in accordance with AS1726 requirements
- Preparation of factual and interpretive reports
- Construction support and field inspections
- Proposal preparation
- Project management
- Client liaison and stakeholder engagement
- Travel to project sites across Western Australia
For more experienced applicants, the role also offers opportunities to take ownership of projects and assist in managing client relationships.
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- A degree in Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus
- Experience undertaking geotechnical investigations or engineering geology work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work effectively with clients, contractors and project teams
- A commitment to safety and compliance with company and client procedures
- A current unrestricted WA Driver's Licence
- Full Australian working rights
- The ability to travel to site when required
Experience within the WA mining industry will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
