About Our Client

Our client is a highly respected, privately owned consultancy based in Perth, WA. With a team of around 30 engineering geologists and geotechnical engineers, they are known for delivering exceptional work in the mining sector. Their projects span greenfield and brownfield sites, including haul roads, rail, bridges, NPI, and mining infrastructure for major clients.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity for an Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer with experience ranging from graduate level up to 10 years to work on some of Australia's most significant mining projects while remaining in a consulting environment.

Whether you're currently in consulting and want deeper exposure to client-side mining work or you're in mining and looking to transition into consulting while leveraging your site experience, this role offers the best of both worlds. You'll contribute to high-impact projects, provide geological and geotechnical expertise, and collaborate closely with major mining clients across diverse and challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and provide construction support on active sites.
  • Build strong relationships with client-side teams and subcontractors.
  • Prepare detailed factual and interpretive geological or geotechnical reports.
  • Support desktop studies, geohazard identification, and engineering geomorphology.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including medical and drug/alcohol screening.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • From graduate level to 10 years of experience as an engineering geologist or geotechnical engineer in mining or construction.
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to work on long-term remote projects.
  • Skilled in writing clear, professional reports with interpretive depth.
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable liaising with clients and internal teams.
  • Able to pass medical, drug, and alcohol screening assessments.

This role is ideal for candidates who want to transition from mining into consulting or expand their consulting career with increased exposure to major mining projects. Your past experience will be highly valued and directly applicable.

What's on Offer

  • Work on high-profile mining projects across Australia.
  • Join a close-knit, safety-focused team with a strong reputation.
  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • Grow your expertise within a respected consultancy.
