About the job Material Handling & Classifications Supervisor
Job objective :
Provides supervisory role in the Plasma Logistics Centers. Responsibilities include receipt, handling, verification, storage, inventory management, and distribution for all human blood plasma to ensure the highest level of compliance.
Environment :
Internal: GEPD management, quality, & plasma collection departments
External: Health Authorities, government agencies, auditors, & transportation & 3PL providers.
Key responsibility :
Supervise the receipt, handling, verification, storage, and distribution of plasma to ensure compliance, safety, and conformance to procedures as specified by Standard Operating Procedures, cGMP's, and OSHA standards
Assure that each plasma shipment, production unit, and lot meets all applicable quality, storage, and production requirements and ensure that each plasma lot is delivered in a timely manner to appropriate customers.
Assure that each individual unit of plasma that is deemed unacceptable for further processing is individually removed, accounted for, and ultimately dispositioned according to documented procedures.
Interview, hire, train, and directly supervise non-exempt employees in the Plasma Operations group. Monitor performance, employee relations, and quality standards to ensure effective work team performance is maintained.
Develop and maintain departmental SOP's in accordance with regulatory agency and company requirements. Ensure procedures accurately reflect the processes that are currently being performed.
Coordinate and provide oversight to all inventory transactions relating to the storage and movement of raw plasma. Maintain inventory accuracy levels at agreed upon targets.
Partner with a wide variety of internal and external customers including manufacturing, freight carriers, quality operations, and numerous other groups on a variety of issues.
Work closely with Quality Operations group to evaluate incoming plasma to determine if it is acceptable, discrepant, or non-conforming.
Academic experience required :
A Bachelor's degree in one of the sciences, business administration, engineering, or some other related field.
Professional experience required :
A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, materials inventory planning, or distribution (preferably relating to lab or blood banks) is required for this level.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes related to lab or blood products, inventory controls, and strong knowledge of cGMP's and other regulatory requirements.
Computing skills :
Excellent in all Microsoft Office applications Experience in ERP systems
