The opportunity

GreenTec Workforce Solutions is supporting a growing UK high-voltage infrastructure and renewable energy delivery specialist in the appointment of an experienced Site Manager.

The organisation delivers grid connections, power infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the UK. This hands-on leadership position offers the opportunity to take ownership of site operations and contribute to the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of important energy infrastructure.

The successful candidate will manage projects from site mobilisation through to completion, coordinating personnel, subcontractors, resources and daily activities while maintaining strong standards of safety, quality and communication.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day site delivery, including labour, subcontractors, plant, materials and construction activities
  • Lead site teams, civil operatives and supervisors, creating a positive culture based on safety, cooperation and accountability
  • Review and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements, deliver inductions and toolbox talks, and ensure safe systems of work are followed
  • Monitor site progress against the programme, identify emerging risks and implement practical corrective actions
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, clients, utility providers and other stakeholders
  • Oversee Temporary Works, site inspections, quality requirements, reporting and construction records
  • Ensure activities comply with CDM Regulations, current health and safety legislation, client standards and company procedures
About you

You will be an experienced and confident Site Manager who leads by example and understands the practical demands of delivering complex construction projects.

You should be highly organised, safety-focused and capable of building effective relationships with site personnel, clients and subcontractors. The position requires someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly and remains solutions-focused when challenges arise.

Essential requirements
  • At least five years' Site Manager experience within civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure or a related sector
  • Proven experience managing construction sites from mobilisation to completion
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, RAMS, CDM Regulations and UK health and safety legislation
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, civil operatives and wider site teams
  • SMSTS qualification
  • Level 5 NVQ in Construction Site Management or an equivalent qualification
  • Valid three-day First Aid at Work certificate
  • Full UK driving licence

A Temporary Works Supervisor qualification and previous experience across power, utilities, grid infrastructure or renewable energy projects would be advantageous.

Working away

Due to the location of the organisation's projects, occasional working away may be required.

A working-away allowance will be provided in advance where applicable, with the relevant arrangements confirmed before travel.
