Stores Supervisor at UK Docks Teesside
The Site Storeman is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment on-site. This role ensures that inventory is accurately tracked, securely stored, and readily available to support site operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:· Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of materials and equipment.· Organize and maintain the store area to ensure cleanliness, safety, and accessibility.
· Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the relevant departments.
· Issue tools, equipment, and materials to site personnel as required.
· Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or digital systems.
· Coordinate with suppliers and site teams to ensure timely delivery and dispatch.
· Conduct regular stock checks and audits.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the storage area.· Assist with loading/unloading and transportation of goods when necessary.
· Report damaged or faulty items and arrange for replacements or repairs.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a storekeeping or warehouse role, preferably in a site-based environment.
· Good organizational and time-management skills.· Basic IT skills for inventory management systems.
· Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
· Forklift license or other relevant certifications (desirable).
· Strong communication skills and attention to detail.· Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Working Conditions:
· Required to wear PPE and adhere to site safety protocols.
· Physical work including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
· Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, to suit the needs of the business.
