Tree Surveyor / Arboricultural Consultant

A fantastic opportunity for budding and junior Tree Surveyors / Arboricultural Consultants looking for real career growth in the West Midlands!

About the role:

We're looking for early career and mid-level Arbs to join an independent arboricultural consultancy, based within commutable distance from Herefordshire or Dudley. You'll be working collaboratively on projects involving trees, specifically in relation to planning and development - including tree risk surveys, tree population management, contract administration and ancient / veteran tree surveys and advice.

As part of a family-run operation, you won't be dropped into a huge firm and left to fend for yourself; here you'll be paired with a senior consultant who mentors and supports you throughout. You'll also have monthly and bi-monthly team meetups so you stay connected to the wider team, while working remotely/site based.

Your travel time is paid and you'll be working predominantly within the West Midlands, which keeps travel fairly local and means less time on the road or away from home. For those occasional projects further afield, your accommodation and food expenses are also covered.

This is a company that is deliberately investing in its people: you'll get structured support from day one and a clear career progression pathway right through to Principal level.

Salary is circa £31,000 - £38,000 dependent on experience, plus

What we're looking for:

Essential

• Level 3 Arboriculture qualification

• Some field-based tree surveying and data collection experience

• A full driving licence and access to your own transport

• Genuine enthusiasm to learn and build a long-term career in arboriculture

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience with tree risk assessment and BS5837
• Ideally a year or two of tree surveying background — however, if you have the Level 3 qualification plus some surveying exposure and strong motivation, you're encouraged to apply even if you don't tick every box, as the company will train and develop you from there
