Position Overview

The Director / Senior Director of Commercial Operations & Strategic Analytics will be responsible for building and executing the core commercial analytics and operational infrastructure required to support launch and ongoing business performance.

This is a highly hands-on role in a lean organization, requiring an individual who can design and build reporting, analytics, and operational processes from scratch while ensuring they are scalable and fit for purpose.

The role will focus on performance analytics, forecasting support, sales force effectiveness, and commercial systems, translating data into actionable insights that drive decision-making across the organization.  The Senior Director of Commercial Operations & Strategic Analytics reports to the Vice President of Commercial Excellence and Strategic Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Performance Analytics & Reporting (~40% of time)

  • Build and maintain commercial dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) from the ground up.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned to launch and revenue objectives.
  • Analyze sales performance, field activity, and customer engagement data.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and actionable reporting to Commercial Leadership and the Executive Team.

Forecasting & Data Integration Support (~20% of time)

  • Partner with the VP to operationalize forecasting models and scenario analyses.
  • Integrate multiple data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, CRM) into a cohesive analytics framework.
  • Maintain and refine forecasting inputs, assumptions, and outputs as new data becomes available.
  • Support long-range planning and commercial strategy development.

Business Development & Asset Evaluation (~20% of time)

  • Conduct market landscape and competitive assessments to evaluate strategic fit within the company portfolio.
  • Develop commercial diligence materials supporting internal investment committee decisions.
  • Provide commercial forecasts and market sizing analyses to support investor communications and financial guidance.

Commercial Systems & Infrastructure (~10% of time)

  • Lead implementation and ongoing management of commercial data systems and tools.
  • Establish data governance, reporting standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, practical, and aligned with business needs.

Cross-Functional Execution & Launch Readiness (~10% of time)

  • Partner with Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Finance to support commercial execution.
  • Ensure analytics, reporting, and operational capabilities are ready for launch.
  • Identify and solve operational gaps quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate Profile | Who You Are

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 8–12+ years of experience in pharma/biotech commercial analytics, operations, or consulting.
  • Launch Experience: Experience supporting pre-launch or launch-stage assets preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), CRM systems (Veeva), and commercial data sources (IQVIA, Symphony).
  • Competencies: Highly execution-oriented; strong problem-solving skills; ability to build processes and tools from scratch; comfortable operating in ambiguity.

  • Location: Hybrid – Yardley, Pennsylvania (2–3 days per week in office)
  • Travel: ~10–20% (internal meetings, sales meetings, conferences)
