The Opportunity
A premier health organization in Ithaca, NY is adding a Physical Therapist to its Post-Acute and Medical Rehabilitation Unit — a specialized setting where your clinical skills directly shape patient recovery at a higher acuity level. Your Day-to-Day
- Conduct initial evaluations and build individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's rehabilitation goals
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including exercise, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/ice therapy
- Educate patients on exercise programming, posture correction, and injury prevention to drive long-term functional outcomes
- Collaborate with the broader clinical team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries per departmental and industry standards
- Maintain a safe, organized treatment environment in compliance with infection control guidelines
What We're Looking For
- Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
- Licensure: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid New York Physical Therapist license at time of hire
- Certifications: BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- Experience: Prior outpatient or post-acute physical therapy experience preferred
- Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management abilities; capacity to deliver compassionate care across a diverse patient population
