We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Nursing Unit Manager to lead our Labor & Delivery department at our state-of-the-art healthcare facility. Position Overview
As the Clinical Unit Manager, you'll oversee daily operations, ensure clinical excellence, and drive quality patient outcomes in our Labor & Delivery unit. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with operational management to deliver superior patient-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of healthcare professionals while maintaining highest standards of patient care
- Drive clinical excellence through implementation of evidence-based practices
- Manage unit operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain quality metrics
- Optimize patient flow and throughput processes
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
- Champion patient experience initiatives and quality improvement projects
- Oversee staff development and competency programs
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Manage departmental budget and resource utilization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state eligibility
- 3-5+ years of progressive clinical experience in Labor & Delivery
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in acute care setting
- BLS certification required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
- RNC-OB certification
- NRP and FHM certifications
- ACLS certification
