Senior Commodity Manager – Strategic Sourcing | $130K–$135K – Mankato, MN
Job Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
A global manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager to lead strategic sourcing for financially impactful commodity categories. You'll implement supply management strategies, negotiate complex contracts, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost, quality, and delivery performance across the supply base. Relocation is included.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
Negotiate and administer complex procurement contracts focused on cost savings and delivery performance
Lead moderately to highly complex strategic sourcing negotiations; ensure all agreements are legally binding and auditable
Develop, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to achieve cost, availability, and inventory goals
Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues in collaboration with suppliers
Monitor supplier performance across delivery, process flexibility, and total cost metrics
Support new product introductions as a materials resource on cross-functional product development teams
Develop commodity procurement plans and manage transitions to strategic suppliers
Research new product and process technologies; monitor market trends and external cost drivers
Manage international shipping requirements including Harmonized Tariff Codes and country of origin documentation
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or equivalent
7+ years of experience managing complex procurement contracts, vendor negotiations, and strategic sourcing
Experience with MRP, JD Edwards (JDE), and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
Some domestic and international travel required
