Assistant Dean of Nursing - Workforce Development (Educational Leadership)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced nursing education leader to serve as Assistant Dean for our Workforce Development nursing program. This role combines academic leadership, clinical expertise, and program management to shape the next generation of nursing professionals.

Position Overview

Working directly with the Dean, you will provide strategic oversight of nursing program operations, faculty development, and clinical partnerships while maintaining a 50% teaching commitment in practical instruction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Dean to develop, manage and evaluate all aspects of the nursing program
  • Oversee clinical site relationships and coordinate student placement
  • Lead curriculum development and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Manage faculty supervision and professional development
  • Maintain program accreditation standards and documentation
  • Direct student success initiatives and academic support services
  • Teach in skills lab, simulation lab, and/or clinical settings (50% load)
  • Drive continuous quality improvement in instruction and outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license in California or ability to obtain (relocation assistance provided)
  • Master's degree in Nursing preferred; Bachelor's with commitment to pursue MSN acceptable
  • Minimum 4 years direct patient care experience as RN
  • 1+ year teaching experience in nursing education
  • Demonstrated leadership and program management experience
  • Excellence in both written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems
